Christian Brigades' primary focus has been in providing long-term and sustainable development rather than short-term work, Christian Brigades will send relief in times of emergency. We work to help countries in times of trouble when natural disasters such as: earthquakes, tsunamis, hurricanes, droughts and diseases, or human made-disasters (war, genocide, etc) that require support and immediate responses.

LOS CABOS, MEXICO

Los Cabos, Baja California, Mexico was affected by Catagory 4 hurricane Odile on September 15, 2014 causing massive destruction throughout the cities of Cabo San Lucas and San Jose del Cabo. This area of Baja California had never seen a storm of such proportions in over 22 years. Unfortunately, as the storm hit, the city was not prepared. Odile brought winds of over 200MPH as families were out on the streets, grocery shopping or working in this important Mexican tourist region.

Tourist and local natives were impacted in such a way that massive hotels, malls, and homes were destroyed and left as rubble and trash. More than 7,500 electric polls in both communities fell to the ground because of the extreme winds and left the area without electricity for more than 15 days. Due to the impoverished conditions, people began looting stores like; Costco, Sam's Club, Office Depot, Oxxo, along with houses, hotels and other popular stores. The environment in the two communities was dangerous

and destructive..

In the midst of all of this, there were families that had lost everything. People lost loved ones and had no hope, Christian Brigades sent a group to provide three weeks worth of food, water and basic home supplies to over

100 families.
